Usher Raymond IV was born on the 14th of October, 1978 in Dallas, Texas. Usher spent most of his childhood life in Chattanooga, Tennessee. As a little child he joined his local church choir where he realised he had the ability to sing, from then he entered junior school talent shows.
Usher was only 13 when he competed on Star Search, where he was spotted by an A&R representative from LaFace Records, who arranged an audition from him with L.A Reid, he got a contract with the company soon after.
He is an American R&B, Pop singer and actor, and started to become famous at around the mid-late 1990’s. Usher has sold about 30 million albums world wide and has won five Grammy Awards, and is also a part owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers National Basketball Association franchise. He also has his own record label called US Records.
